Zoladex (Goserelin/Prostap)

What is Zoladex?

Zoladex is a type of hormonal therapy prescribed to help manage your condition. It works by altering hormone levels in your body and is an important part of your treatment plan. How will your treatment work?

  • Regular Appointments:
You will need to attend regular appointments at your Surgery for your Zoladex injections. These appointments are essential to keep your treatment on track.
  • Expert Care:
Not all doctors and nurses give the Zoladex injection. We will book you with a clinician to administer your injection safely and effectively who is trained to give these injections.
  • Booking appointments:
We will do our best to offer you appointment dates and locations to fit your schedule and within our opening hours 08.00 – 18.30.
  • At your appointment:
You should be given a prescription for your next injection for you to collect for your next appointment. Please also make your appointment if it’s possible for your next injection. Sometimes our clinics may not be up that far in advance, if this is the case then we will ask you to call back at a later date.

Managing your appointments and prescription

  • Prescription process:
At each appointment, your Clinician will send a prescription directly to your nominated pharmacy for your next appointment.
  • Collect Your medication: Please collect your prescription from the pharmacy and bring it with you to your next appointment.
  • Why bring It? Having your treatment on hand ensures that you always have the medication available at the appointment time and location you are booked for.
  • Why can’t the Surgery provide the injection? Due to increases in costs we are no longer stocking Zoladex. Patients therefore should collect the prescription from the pharmacy.
  • Staying on track:
Your active participation in booking and attending your appointments and managing your prescription is crucial for the success of your treatment.
  • We suggest you book your next appointment when you have your injection.
